Two talented sisters from Blairgowrie have beaten fierce competition to make it to the Pony Club Championships at Draycott House in Derbyshire.
Rosie and Katy Allen are the only two members of the Perth Hunt Branch of the Pony Club to make it to the national competition.
The pair outclassed other riders at the Burgie International three-day event in June to win their places at the contest, which is the highest level they can reach at their age.
This will be the third outing at the event for 15-year-old Rosie, who will be showcasing her skills in the showjumping category.
However, younger sister Katy (13) faces a more daunting prospect, as this will be her first time at the championships, which take place between August 14 and 17.
She competes in the one-day event, which includes dressage, showjumping and cross country.
Perth Hunt Branch secretary Alison Hood spoke of her “great pride” at seeing two members get to such a high level.
“They are very much carving a reputation for themselves in the eventing arena,” she said. “They will be going to Draycott under the banner of our club and we are very proud that they have got so far.”
Mrs Hood added that the sisters come from an equestrian background, as their parents are keen riders.
Their sister Flora is already a member of Pony Club, despite only being three years old.
