Dundee Rep has three nominations in the TMA Theatre Awards, which celebrate the best of theatre from around the UK.
Its production of Sweeney Todd has netted two one for best musical production and one for best performance in a musical for David Birrell, who played the title role.
Sweeney Todd played to popular and critical acclaim in May and June.
The Rep has carved itself a niche with its quality musicals, from Cabaret to the Proclaimers musical Sunshine On Leith, which is currently touring the UK.
Taking the leading role in Sunshine is Billy Boyd, known to millions as Pippin in Lord Of The Rings.
He is among the presenters at the TMA award ceremony on November 7 at the Lyric, Hammersmith. Host for the night is Craig Revel Horwood.
Dundee Rep’s production of The Elephant Man also attracted the attention of the judges, with Alex Lowde winning a nomination for best design for the play, staged last autumn.
The production garnered three awards at the Critics Awards for Theatre Scotland, for Lowde’s design, for director Jemima Levick and best male performance for Kevin Lennon.
