Dundee will have to wait to find out what penalties if any the Scottish Football League will impose upon them for entering administration.
The Scottish Football League board is set to discuss the Dark Blues’ plight on Thursday morning.
But no ruling is expected to be made at that point.
The SFL have written to Dundee and administrator Bryan Jackson asking for their comments on the situation.
Once that response is forthcoming the club will be offered an opportunity to have representatives appear before the board before a judgment is made on whether they have breached league rules and, if they have, what sanctions ought to be deployed.
An SFL source confirmed, “We have a process to follow so it is unlikely any determination will be made this week.”
The SFL board comprises president Jim Ballantyne, chief executive David Longmuir, vice-president Ewen Cameron and ordinary members Jim Leishman, Gilbert Lawrie, Malcolm Mackay, Lachlan Cameron, Frank Meade and Alan Ripley.
But Dunfermline FC director of football and Courier columnist Leishman has revealed that, as he is involved with a fellow first division club, he’ll be seeking advice from the SFL as to whether he should disqualify himself from considering Dundee’s case on the grounds of possible conflict of interest.
