A new cycling challenge is being lined up in Highland Perthshire in April.
The 200-mile Revolution tour rides in the slipstream of the increasingly popular Etape Caledonia, and is the brainchild of road cycling tour company Skinny Tyres, backed by the Highland Perthshire Cycling Group.
Skinny Tyres director Scot Tares said, “I have cycled in many countries around the world, but Scotland and Highland Perthshire in particular has a huge amount to offer.
“I was really keen to have a route that took in the best cycling in the area. We have ensured that the route offers a challenge comparable to that of cycling somewhere such as the Alps.
“We don’t have climbs of comparable length, but they come close, and combined with the variety of terrain and scenery the route provides a perfect recipe for road cycling heaven.”
Starting in Aberfeldy and winding through scenic mountains, lochs and forests, the challenges include several climbs of up to four miles, including an ascent of Ben Lawers.
It also passes through various communities, allowing cyclists to stop over and sample the delights on offer.
The inaugural rides will be fully supported by Skinny Tyres, allowing cyclists to ride the route focusing on their cycling and not having to transport luggage.
Mr Tares said, “Our support crew takes care of all the details, allowing the rider to concentrate 100% on turning the pedals.”
