Peugeot’s big 508 saloon will cost from £18,150 when it goes on sale in April. The replacement for the 407 will go head to head against the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia.
Launched in saloon and estate guises, it’ll feature an engine line-up of four diesels and two petrols, and a choice of five trim levels.
Entry level Access versions are available with a 120bhp petrol or 112bhp diesel engine and come with air conditioning, remote central locking, CD stereo with USB input and stability control.
SR spec cars add alloy wheels, climate control, Bluetooth and sat nav, while Active models have cruise control, automatic lights and wipers and, on estate versions, a panoramic sunroof.
Allure 508s have an electric parking brake, keyless entry and start, rear parking sensors, electrically folding door mirrors and electric, heated front seats.
The GT model is only available with one engine the 200bhp 2.2 litre diesel – and has a heads-up display, leather seats, LED running lights and xenon active headlights.
The entry level diesel comes with a five-speed manual all the other engines in the range are fitted with six-speed boxes.
The estate version costs around £1000 more than the saloon, with an entry price tag of £19,175. Top whack for a 508 is £29,975 for the GT HDi 200 station wagon with automatic transmission.
