Raith Rovers were the worst-affected of all the first division promotion hopefuls by the winter freeze but have emerged with the best set of results.
Stark’s Park boss John McGlynn has praised his players for keeping their title bid on track in the toughest of circumstances.
He said, “I think we suffered the most during the lay-off because most teams got at least one game played while we were out of action.
“But since we got back out there we’ve drawn at Partick Thistle and Falkirk away from home, beaten Dunfermline and then got a win against Ross County at the weekend.
“I’m delighted with the way it has panned out.
“We’re happy to have a small gap at the top of the table, but we won’t be getting carried away because we know that there’s such a fine line between winning and losing in first division matches.”
He added, “Saturday’s match was an important one because it was our first game since the high of beating Dunfermline in the derby and we wanted to keep up the momentum.
“It would have been easy to fall on our faces after such a big win.
“Other teams will find it hard going to Ross County and getting three points.”
Grant Murray injured his ribs in Dingwall so isn’t expected to train until later in the week, while Scott McBride will have his hamstring injury assessed by the club’s physio.
