Cowdenbeath set to be frozen out of Central Park yet again

Cowdenbeath’s first home game since November 6 is in severe doubt, after the Central Park playing surface was hit by frost.
With temperatures expected to plunge below zero again before the weekend, Saturday’s scheduled match against Partick Thistle looks likely to be postponed.
Disappointed Blue Brazil boss Jimmy Nicholl said, “We have been on a bad run recently, playing away from home, but we were looking to pick up a confidence boost by being back at Central Park.
“We trained on the pitch on Wednesday but I came in today and it was rock solid.
“The temperature dipped to minus six overnight and it is set to freeze again tonight and tomorrow.
“The game is already looking in doubt and we will be contacting the league to try to organise an early inspection.”
Nicholl was keeping his fingers crossed that he would receive some better news in the shape of new additions to his squad.
“I am hoping to tie up loan deals for Stevie Old from Kilmarnock and Archie Campbell from Rangers, who is a young striker,” he added.
“We are still hopeful that Lee Makel will be joining us but he has some things he needs to sort out with the Swedish club he was with.”
