A spectacular adaptation of Peter Pan has hit the Perth Concert Hall stage with Wild Rose Russian Ice Stars.
The venue has been transformed into a winter wonderland filled with pirates, Indians and ticking crocodiles.
The stunningly choreographed moves are the work of Caverliere Giuseppe Arena, who was responsible for the opening ceremony of Turin’s 2006 Winter Olympics.
He said, “In Peter Pan, everything is about the choreography.”
Wild Rose producer Vee Deplidge pioneered the concept of “theatre on ice” on stage, allowing audiences a close up view, different from the traditional view gained during ice arena productions.
He said, “I had always loved theatre.
“Transferring it to the ice was long overdue and would allow a whole new range of movement while giving a much broader appeal to the traditional interpretation of popular stories.”
Peter Pan on Ice is at Perth Concert Hall until Sunday.
