Ayr United v Forfar Athletic: Campbell aims to keep play-off hopes alive
ByNews reporter
Forfar travel to Ayr tonight with both sides looking to stay on track for the promotion play-off spots.
Dick Campbell’s men will want to bounce back from the 4-0 drubbing dished out by champions-elect Livingston on Saturday, who at 16 points clear now seem to be on the home stretch.
However, the Loons are without defender Iain Campbell, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.
Assistant manager Ian Campbell said, “They are all big games now and we are where we are.
“The Ayr game will look after itself because all the games from now until the end of the season are going to be hard.”
“Our players aren’t usually guilty of giving away the goals that they did at the weekend and we are going through a wee sticky patch just now, but we will have players coming back and we should be fine.
“We’re not overly confident because we played pretty poorly on Saturday but we’re looking forward to it.”
