Dunfermline boss Jim McIntyre has urged the club’s supporters to roar their side over the first division finishing line to clinch promotion to the SPL.
The Pars currently sit two points behind Raith Rovers at the top of the table with just seven games to go.
The Fife rivals still have to meet once more at East End Park next month, but McIntyre has issued a rallying cry to the supporters to turn out in numbers and back the team starting tomorrow against Partick Thistle.
“We will need our supporters right behind us from the start on Saturday,” he said. “The fans have such a big part to play at home and we need them to be really vocal and right up for the game.
“They could definitely make the difference for us in a close match. We know we have not played particularly well at times, which can frustrate the fans.
“But it makes such a difference when you can hear them singing and trying to lift the entire atmosphere.”
The Pars will need that backing as the squad is stretched to the limit with a whole host of players set to miss tomorrow’s game through injury.
Steven Bell, Andy Kirk, Neil McGregor, Ryan Thomson, Steven McDougall and Nick Phinn will all be forced to sit this one out, but McIntyre believes he still has enough cover to cope.
“It is a big test of our squad but everyone is the same at this stage of the season and it would be wrong to make too much of the injuries,” he added.
