NHS Tayside has said it is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in a wooded area near to a unit in Dundee for young people with mental welfare issues.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Anna Susan Neri of Stonehaven, who disappeared from Dudhope House Young Persons Unit.
Her body was found among trees off Dudhope Gardens in the early hours of Tuesday.
A police spokesman said, “Tayside Police attended at waste ground to the rear of Dudhope Gardens in Dundee shortly after 3.30am on Tuesday where they discovered the body of a 17-year-old woman.
“She has since been formally identified as Anna Susan Neri of Stonehaven.
“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and, as with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
An NHS Tayside spokeswoman said, “We are looking into the set of circumstances surrounding the incident. Our thoughts are with the family.”
Dudhope House opened in 1992 as part of the old Dundee Royal Infirmary and moved to its current premises five years later. Plans are being made to move it to a new location.
