A rescue helicopter, seven coastguard officers, two lifeboats, police and an ambulance crew were called to the assistance of a drunk man in Fife.
The man fell over a wall at Kinghorn Harbour on his way home from the pub.
Rescuers freed him from the bushes he had tumbled into and he was winched to safety by a Royal Navy helicopter from Prestwick.
Forth Coastguard watch officer Bob Bruce said, “We’ve all done it.
“We don’t criticise, we’re just here to rescue people and that’s what we do. We actually do this all the time-unfortunately people tend to get a bit inebriated.
“He fell into some bushes, which had to be cut away before he could be airlifted to the road where there was a waiting ambulance.”
The alarm was raised by the man’s friend at around 1am on Monday.
He was lifted to safety around two hours later and taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline. It is understood the man’s injuries were not life threatening.
