Forfar Athletic v Stenhousemuir FC: Play-offs within Loons’ reach
ByNews reporter
Forfar will tonight look to bounce back from defeat at Somerset Park with a home victory against second division strugglers Stenhousemuir.
The Loons remain in control of their play-off destiny, two points ahead of Airdrie United in the third play-off place with a game in hand on the Diamonds.
The Diamonds are moving well up the table after an impressive run of results and John Robertson’s East Fife are also coming up on the rails.
The Loons-who suffered their fourth defeat in five games on Saturday-still believe they have enough in the tank to grab a coveted play-off spot.
Assistant manager Ian Campbell said, “We’ve a strong squad and a game in hand so it’s up to us to capitalise.”
Although Stenny lie second-bottom of the table, Forfar will be taking nothing for granted against Davie Irons’ side who took a point from Station Park earlier this month.
Forfar look set to be without goalkeeper Scott Gallacher who was carried off with a knee injury in the 3-1 defeat to Ayr United on Saturday.
