Police appeal for witnesses to three-vehicle crash on A9 near Bankfoot

Police are appealing for information following a three-vehicle collision on the notorious A9, involving a lorry, a car and a tractor.
The incident took place around 6pm on Friday on a single carriageway on the Perth to Inverness road near Bankfoot.
The collision involved three vehicles an orange Warburton’s articulated lorry, a blue Ford Fiesta and a green Massey Ferguson tractor. The Warburton’s lorry, which had been heading north, crossed the carriageway and overturned on to the Ford Fiesta which was travelling south.
The tractor had also been travelling north but was not damaged.
The 57-year-old female driver was trapped in the car and subsequently freed by Tayside Fire and Rescue. She was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, where she was detained overnight after treatment for minor injuries.
The 49-year-old male driver of the lorry was taken by ambulance to Perth Royal Infirmary and released after treatment for minor injuries. The tractor driver was not hurt.
The road was closed for a short time overnight while the articulated lorry and load were recovered.
Witnesses are being asked to contact police on 0300 111 2222 or speak to any officer.
