Forfar Athletic 0 Dundee United 2: United’s injury fear for Robertson

Scott Robertson limped out of Saturday’s Station Park pre-season friendly, in which Dundee United eased their way to victory over Forfar Athletic, to spark a midfield crisis ahead of the Tangerines’ first competitive game.
The United midfielder is facing a race against time to be fit to face Polish side Slask Wroclaw in the Europa League qualifier a week on Thursday.
He injured his ankle early in the second half of United’s 2-0 victory following a collision with Loons defender Jamie Bishop.
The ankle is badly swollen.
The full extent of the damage will be assessed once the swelling subsides.Injury concernsWith first-team stars Danny Swanson and Garry Kenneth also injured, and a dearth of central midfielders, small wonder manager Peter Houston is desperate that Robertson recovers in time.
“Some players recover from injuries like this quicker than others, so hopefully, he’s a fast healer,” he said.
United opened the scoring after 32 minutes when the luckless Jamie Bishop diverted a Willo Flood cross into his own net.
They added a second when Scott Allan weaved his way into the box to set up Johnny Russell.
