Friends have been paying tribute to the Blairgowrie man who died after a collision on the A93 near the Spittal of Glenshee on Wednesday.
Scott McIntosh, who was 26, lived in David Street and worked for McConechy’s tyre and exhaust centre in the Perthshire town.
Mr McIntosh was a former captain of Balmoral United Amateur Football Club and tributes are being paid to him on social networking sites.
One woman from the town said, “Blairgowrie has lost a much loved son, brother, nephew, cousin and uncle and a very special friend to many of us.
“Scott, you are going to be missed in so many of our lives.”
The incident happened at around 12.55pm on Wednesday, when the van Mr McIntosh was driving collided with an articulated lorry and another van near Dalnaglar Castle, five miles south of the Spittal.
Mr McIntosh was cut free from the van and taken by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital, where he died. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
Mr McIntosh is survived by parents Bryan and Cath and sister Lynn (25).
Police investigations are continuing into the incident and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
