Police in Dundee are continuing to investigate after one of their vehicles was involved in a collision with a man and a young girl on Sunday night.
A 56-year-old man received cracked ribs and a broken leg while a seven-year-old girl sustained facial injuries in the collision that took place on Douglas Road near the Scott Fyffe roundabout at around 11.30pm.
The marked Ford Focus is understood not to have been attending an emergency call as it travelled southbound on the busy route.
An internal investigation will be conducted by Tayside Police, which has pledged to interview everybody involved with the incident.
The man and girl were taken to Ninewells Hospital following the collision.
The Courier has attempted to obtain further information regarding the police investigation but Tayside Police insist that no time scale can be provided and that inquiries are ongoing.
A witness to the aftermath of the incident was only aware of events after waking up in the night.
The Kemnay Place resident said: ”I was in bed, but heard that something was going on outside. I got up and looked out of the window and could see that the police had stopped traffic.
”The road was closed off for about half an hour and I could see police cars and two ambulances. I didn’t know what had happened exactly but there were two blue marks on the road this morning.”
Douglas Road resident Eileen Alexander lives opposite the collision scene.
Tayside Police are asking anybody who can assist with their investigation to phone them on 0300 111 2222, or to call anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
