Tenants have started moving into the first Fife Council homes built in over two decades.
The £3.2 million development of 35 properties off Castle Road in Rosyth marks the completion of the first of a £20 million-plus local authority investment in 189 new council homes on five new developments under way in the region.
The Rosyth development attracted a Scottish Government subsidy of £875,000.
The council says the new mix of two-, three- and four-bedroomed properties on Boyle Drive will help to meet housing needs of the local community.
The project, delivered on time and to budget, was project managed by Kingdom Housing Association on behalf of Fife Council and built by local contractors Campion Homes.
Housing and communities committee chairman Brian Goodall said: ”It’s fantastic to see the first tenants moved in and benefiting from these new properties. These homes will make a massive difference to people’s lives.”
Mr Goodall said Fife Council is leading the way in providing new council houses with building work under way on homes in Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Ladybank and Cupar. A planning application is also being considered for a proposal to build in Anstruther and the council set out further region-wide plans at a committee meeting this month.
