Around 1,500 fans of anime, comics and video games turned out to support one of Scotland’s biggest animation celebrations on Saturday.
Held at Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA), Dee-Con 2012 combined artists’ salons, licensed film screenings and talks by industry professionals.
Organised by the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art fourth year animation students, Dee-Con raises money for the students’ end-of-year degree shows.
Student Kieran Duncan said: ”We’ve had all sorts happening today. It’s gone really well. This is the fourth year, but it was run slightly differently this year.
“We will be graduating at the end of this year, so we hope the current third years take it on.”
Leader of the university’s new comics course, Chris Murray, gave a lecture, as did Andrew Partridge, a leading light in the world of animation.
After the main event students partied into the wee small hours with a live ukulele band and a DJ set accompanied by floor to ceiling video projection.Click here for a full photo gallery
