DOUGIE NICOLSON, COURIER, 16/04/12, NEWS. Pictured at home in Bridge Of Earn today, Monday 16th April 2012, is Ian Imrie with his new Mini Goodwood beside his Rolls Royce. Story by Perth office.

A Perthshire woman this week took delivery of an exclusive new car understood to be the first of its kind in Scotland.

Only 1,000 Goodwood minis have been manufactured, with 215 going on to the market in Britain.

Deluxe car manufacturers Rolls-Royce were drafted in to help create the most luxurious version of the limited-edition Mini, which costs £41,000.

Margaret Imrie (71), from Bridge of Earn, took delivery of her new wheels on Monday.

Her husband, Ian (73), said: ”Margaret is absolutely delighted but she told me off for being extravagant.”

Mr Imrie has a Silver Spirit 2 Rolls-Royce which he bought from Grassicks 20 years ago, and he decided the Rolls-Royce-inspired Mini would complement his vehicle.

He said: ”It is of such exceptional quality and both cars have the same spec.”

Finished in Rolls-Royce diamond black paintwork and featuring walnut and cashmere in the interior, the car will bear one of the oldest number plates around M53, which was issued in 1903.

The car is unlikely to depreciate through over-use Mrs Imrie only does about 1,200 miles a year.
