A Dundee man has died while on holiday in Johnshaven despite intensive efforts to save him.
Margaret Piggot helped administer mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on husband Billy Piggot (58) after he collapsed.
The couple, who live in the Stobsmuir area of the city, had been staying at their caravan at Wairds Park in Johnshaven when the tragic incident occurred.
Margaret (55), a computer operator at Tayside Plumbing, said the whole family has been left shocked by the tragic loss.
She said: ”He was such a gentleman. He was my life. I am just grateful for the time we had together.
”I had many happy years with him. I just wish we had had more time together.”
“Doting dad” Mr Piggot had three children David (28), Amanda-Jane and his late son Billy, who died six years ago. He also had four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was born in Dundee and attended Lawside Academy and later worked at NCR, Bonar Long and Farmor Engineering.
At the time of his death, Mr Piggot was working as a production manager at NOV (MERPRO) in Montrose.
Long-time friend Grant McLean said Billy was very well known in Dundee amateur football circles, having played for Lochee Boys, Lochee United, Osborne, NCR, Auchterhouse and Thomson Street Accies among others.
He said Billy’s death was ”very sad” and that he would be missed by many.
