Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson is being targeted by English League One side Brentford.
The 27-year-old Scotland international’s contract with the Tangerines expires at the end of the season and he has yet to decide where his future lies.
It is understood that Bees boss Uwe Rosler will make Robertson an offer, and there may be Championship sides interested in him as well.
Former Manchester City player Rosler has already raided the Scottish market for Niall McGinn, who joined on loan from Celtic last July, so hopes to make Robertson his second signing from the SPL.
Should Robertson agree a deal with Brentford he would team up again with his former Dundee manager Alan Kernaghan, who is part of Rosler’s backroom staff at Griffin Park.
The midfielder joined United from the Dark Blues in 2008.
His early form saw him make it into the Scotland side to face Argentina in November that year but his international opportunities have been curtailed by injury.
Meanwhile, United boss Peter Houston has confirmed his interest in former Liverpool and Bradford defender Robbie Threlfall.
The 23-year-old has joined up with the Tannadice squad for training and Houston will arrange a bounce game to see the left-back in action.
United could be without central defender Gavin Gunning for Saturday’s home game against Hearts.
The Irishman was substituted during the Saints game after his shoulder joint popped out.
