Dundee fundraiser Charlie Kean has been immortalised in song after local band The Cundeez named their new single after him. The song has been launched in recognition of the work Charlie does with his Kean’s Childrens Fund. Gary Robertson from the band said the plan is to give half the money from every sale to Charlie’s fund. He said: ”Charlie makes a huge difference to some very sick and dying children and also their families. ”For a 79p download, we can maybe help in a small way in supporting the wholly unselfish work and time Charlie puts into this.” Charlie said: ”This is very kind of the band. They asked me if they could help and then wrote the song about me and the work I do with the ward. ”They put the word out on Facebook to all their contacts and I’ve already had messages from people in Canada and America. ”It’s a really, really nice song and it’s great as it’s a local band helping a local charity.” The single is available now from iTunes.
