Tommy Sheridan has limbered up for a charity boxing match by taking on cage fighters in Markinch.
The former socialist MSP has vowed to keep fighting to clear his name after serving a year for perjury, and has also been doing some fighting in the ring.
He squared up to members of the Team Unity mixed martial arts (MMA) club in Fife on Thursday ahead of his charity bout with ex-professional Ian McLeod at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow today.
The event will raise funds for Yorkhill Sick Children’s Hospital a charity close to his heart after his daughter was treated there two years ago.
Markinch cage fighters are set to take on some of the toughest opponents in Scotland during a show called The Art of Combat at Dunfermline’s Alhambra Theatre on Saturday, September 8.
Markinch MMA coach David Clark said: ”In preparation for Tommy’s event he is being put through his paces by our fighters.”
