An over-protective father landed in hot water after a fellow parent took exception to him rebuking their child.
After spotting a youngster bullying one of his children, Stuart Higgins felt obliged to intervene.
The 31-year-old gave the youth a telling off, prompting the child to leave the skate park in Rattray, Blairgowrie, and run home.
Within minutes, a group of adults appeared at the Ferguson Park recreation area to find out what had happened.
Perth Sheriff Court heard Higgins was identified as the person who had caused the ”grief” and he was then approached by one of the group.
Matters escalated and Higgins pushed the 21-year-old man to the ground and began punching him on the head and body.
His solicitor told the court that her client was ”remorseful” for his actions and accepted that they were ”inappropriate”.
Higgins, of Hatton Place, Rattray, admitted that on May 24 at the skate park, Ferguson Park, he assaulted a man by pushing him to the ground and punching his head and body.
He was fined £150 for the assault.
