A family had a lucky escape when their canoe capsized on the River Tay.
The dramatic incident took place around 11.50am on Sunday when emergency services were alerted to four people having gone in to the water beside East Dowally Farm, near Dunkeld.
Tayside Fire and Rescue helped rescue the man, woman and two children from the water.
Fortunately none required hospital treatment and were allowed home.
The fire service had four appliances at the scene and a specialist water rescue vehicle from Perth.
One appliance came from Pitlochry, one from Dunkeld, with two coming from Perth to help in the rescue operation.
A spokesman for Tayside Fire and Rescue confirmed that the family involved had been rescued safely.
”All those involved, which was an adult male, adult female and two children, were rescued safely,” she said. ”We had contacted the Scottish Ambulance Service as a precaution.”
And a spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they attended the scene and that the family did not require hospital treatment.
