The management at a remote Angus hotel have become the latest business to back The Courier’s fight for fairer fuel.
The Glen Clova Hotel, near Kirriemuir, has noticed a sharp increase in prices for deliveries of late and is also being hit hard as customers become more reluctant to travel as far afield for days out.
Manager Lesley Niven said, “The price of fuel is just getting ridiculous so I would definitely support this campaign.
“Because we’re so rural people are charging us more and more to get stuff out to us, which is resulting in us having to put our prices up.
“We’ve also noticed that fewer people can afford to come out here for the day or just for a run in the car if they fancy it.
“The only advantage is that our lodges have been more popular.
“I think people are holidaying close to home because it’s too expensive to go elsewhere.”If you want to support the Courier’s call for a fuel duty regulator, click here to add your name to our petition.
