Saab’s rise from the ashes continues with the unveiling of the 9-5 SportWagon.
The premium estate car gets its first public outing at the Geneva Motor Show in March and will be available to order a few weeks afterwards, with first deliveries arriving in September.
Wraparound rear windows give the car a distinctive look, while LED rear lights and large chrome exhausts deliver a technological and sporting edge.
It uses the same line-up of engines as the saloon, with turbo petrol units including a 1.6, 2.0 and 2.8 litre, and a 2.0 litre diesel completing the range.
Load space is a useful 527 litres, increasing to around 1600 litres with the rear seats folded.
Technical highlights include optional XWD four-wheel drive, adaptive chassis and adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start up, three-zone air conditioning and a head-up display that projects information onto the windscreen.
There’s no word yet on prices, but expect at least a £1000-£1500 mark-up from those of the saloon, which starts at £26,995.
