Golfers affected by the sudden closure of Letham Grange because of an ongoing legal dispute over ownership are looking to take over the running of the courses.
The golf club committee met on Friday night to share details of all information gathered by the team.
Based on discussions with resort management and other information, it was agreed that the committee would make a proposal for operating the golf courses this season.
Club captain Nick Jackson said that time is critical, with members looking to the start of the season, so their intentions are to have the proposal accepted by both management and its members before the end of February.
Mr Jackson said, “The proposal is still being developed and details cannot yet be disclosed, however the golf club committee would like to officially thank the members of the club who have offered support, advice and words of encouragement.
“The committee is asking members to indicate whether in principle they would support the club if the proposal was accepted by the resort management.
“Members are also encouraged to share any ideas/suggestions that they might have as to how the golf club could operate the golf courses, and all offers of support will be greatly appreciated.”
Members should provide feedback to the committee in person or via committee@lethamgrangegolfclub.co.uk. There is also a website at www.lethamgrangegolfclub.co.uk.
