It was a case of one in and two out for St Johnstone as the transfer window closed.
Perth boss Derek McInnes managed to move on Steven Milne and Scott Dobie and late last night clinched the loan signing of Hearts midfielder Arvydas Novikovas (20).
The Lithuanian under-21 international has been farmed out to McDiarmid Park until the end of the season and goes straight into the squad for Tuesday night’s clash with Hamilton Accies.
McInnes said, “I’d like to thank Jim Jefferies for allowing this deal to happen.
“I’ve been looking for a left-sided player to give our squad more balance and Arvydas will give us that. He’s got pace and strength and will be considered for tomorrow.”
First division Ross County signed Milne on an 18-month contract, while Dobie went back down south to Bradford City on a loan through to the end of the season.
Milne scored 54 goals in his five years with Saints, two of them at Ibrox when they knocked Rangers out of the CIS Cup in 2006.Former Scotland internationalist Dobie made just one start after a move from Carlisle.
McInnes said, “Savo served this club brilliantly but he has been frustrated with the lack of opportunities this season.
“His contribution over the years will not be forgotten and I am convinced he will do very well in the first division for Ross County.”
