The transfer window may have closed, but that doesn’t mean Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre has given up on strengthening his squad.
The Pars boss, who sold Willie Gibson to Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee just before the end of deadline day, is still exploring the possibility of loan deals.
Ex-St Johnstone midfielder Martin Hardie could also be brought in as he is a free agent.
McIntyre said, “Martin’s still training with us. He’s had a lot of injury problems and we’re having a look at him while he has a look at us.
“He knows the first division well and he’s a player I’ve admired for a few years.No-brainer”He’s a good footballer and a good type to have in your squad, but we need to make sure we look at each other properly before anything happens.”
He added, “We’re still in discussions with a couple of other clubs about loans and we’ll see where they take us.”
The transfer of Gibson, who had turned down a £150,000 move to Crawley in the summer, was a “no brainer” for the East End Park club and the player, McIntyre pointed out.
He said, “It’s disappointing to lose Willie because he did exceptionally well for us in his time here, but he knew how much he could earn down south.
“There’s a vast difference in their wages and our wages. It really is night and day, so we couldn’t stand in his way. The player wanted to go and it’s extra revenue for the club, so it was a no-brainer.”
