Dundee Literary Salons open with contemplations of poetry
ByNews reporter
Dundee folk rubbed shoulders with figures from the writing world at this week’s launch of the popular Dundee Literary Salons series.
Described as being like no other reading or lecture on offer anywhere else in the world, the salon series lets the local community mix with publishers, writers and agents to discuss the industry and culture.
Thursday night’s opening talk centred on how to balance the work-heavy demands of professional life with contemplations of poetry.
This year the series moved to its new premises at the Roseangle Cafe Arts in Perth Road.
Now in its fourth year, it is the brainchild of Dundee University’s professor of creative writing, Kirsty Gunn.
Another two events, both of which are free to attend, will take place on Thursday, March 3 and Thursday, March 24.
