Jim Leishman signs up for our fairer fuel campaign

Dunfermline FC legend Jim Leishman has joined The Courier’s Fight for Fairer Fuel campaign.
Jim, who pens the paper’s Off The Leish column, is the Pars’ director of football and he spoke of his concern at the effect of rising fuel prices.
“In my job here we cover a lot of the country,” he said. “This involves going down to Dumfries and up to Dingwall, so we travel quite a few miles and I have noticed the price of fuel for the team bus at Dunfermline.”
And Jim feels that more could be done to help people whose livelihood depends on the price of fuel.
“I feel that people and businesses that make long journeys should just have to pay half price for fuel,” he said. “People such as fishmongers, who travel door-to-door, come into this category. It’s very difficult for some people.
“It affects many things, such as people’s heating. If the price of fuel goes up how can some businesses maintain giving a service? It’s the customers that suffer.”If you want to support the Courier’s call for a fuel duty regulator, click here to add your name to our petition.
