The latest puzzler to hit the Nintendo DS will bring out the wizard in you: eyes keen and stylus swift as you match the eldritch symbols, with pondering strokes of the chin in between.
A fairy-tale world lies topsy turvy with the upsetting of the four elements and only you can save it.
Fans of Match 3-style games such as Jewel Quest will enjoy the feel of creating not just lines of matching glyphs but chains of them, with a stylus making the experience all the better.
As symbols are linked, the tiles beneath them explode, releasing a flow of energy which ultimately needs to flow into the parched magic altar.
Interspersing the main game are bonus levels: spot the difference and picture puzzle.
The picture puzzle I played was a delight, searching the rustic scene in the lower screen for items shown in the upper.
The main game can become repetitive and I didn’t feel these bonus levels occurred enough.
That said, there is an addictive and hypnotic quality about the main thrust of play, accompanied by its rhythmic and sparkling background music.
Overall, the sense of magic 4 Elements promises is let down by repetitive play but this is nevertheless an enjoyable title.
