Perth Grammar school pupils rewarded for their voluntary work

Senior pupils from Perth Grammar school received their MV awards for voluntary work within the school and in the outer community.
Daniel Tannock, Hannah Jane Walton, Hannah Hutcheson, Jordian Louise Moon gained their 50-hour award, while Katie Lindsay, Jennifer Louise Walker, Atlanta Mason, Lee Johnston, Alexander Green and Matthew Lawson gained the 200-hour award, which was signed by the First Minister Alex Salmond.
All are prefects in the school, assisting at lunch times with corridor supervision of younger pupils, and they also assist with several activities out with school time such as parents’ evenings.
Katie Lindsay, Matthew Lawson and Jennifer Louise Walker volunteer at Bankfoot church centre, Atlanta Mason and Lee Johnston do voluntary work through army cadets and assist with cheerleading coaching of Perth Allstars while Alexander Green has done voluntary work through his involvement with the air training corps.
The MV Awards, available for people aged 16 to 25 years, are administered by Voluntary Action Perthshire, the community engagement department of the local charity Perth and Kinross Association of Voluntary Service (PKAVS).
