One of the oldest residents of Angus has died, aged 103.
Hilda Walker was born at Rescobie, near Forfar, and attended Rescobie Primary and Forfar Academy.
She took a secretarial course at Bruce’s Business College in Dundee and, as a skilled shorthand writer and book-keeper, worked as a secretary and clerkess for a series of firms, ending her career with haulage firm Wilkies of Friockheim.
A parishioner at Friockheim Parish Church, Ms Walker never married.
She kept a dog and budgies and enjoyed training her birds to speak.
Latterly she lived in Cairnie Lodge Nursing Home in Arbroath.
Ms Walker’s funeral will be at Friockheim Parish Church today.
