Dunfermline’s promotion push could soon be boosted by having two more pairs of shoulders to the wheel, with centre-backs Kevin Rutkiewicz and Andy Dowie set to return to full training.
Manager Jim McIntyre will decide at the end of the session whether one or both could make their comeback against Stirling Albion at East End Park on Saturday.
“The two of them are doing well,” he said. “They should be back in training tomorrow, which is great news. It will be a big boost to have another couple of centre-backs available.
“We’ll monitor them both tomorrow and take it from there.”
Dunfermline have five home games remaining this season and McIntyre has called on the supporters to help take the team to the title.
“The fans have got a huge part to play,” he said. “We really need them to get right behind us for our last few matches at East End Park.
“There will be times when they’ll need to be patient- on Saturday and in other games. We’ll need them most when there are spells that we’re not playing well, which will happen.
“I hope they’ll do that because the prize is there for all of us.”
