A Perthshire garage is counting the cost after vandals went on a wrecking spree.
Intruders caused over £36,000 worth of damage to cars parked within a yard at Lamb and Gardiner in Union Street, Coupar Angus.
The vandalism was carried out some time between 5pm on Tuesday and 4.15pm on Wednesday when someone broke into the yard and scratched the paintwork on 24 cars.
The cars targeted include nine Ford Fiestas, six Ford Focuses, three Ford Kas, a Ford Galaxy, Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Golf, Hyundai Tucson, Vauxhall Astra and Mitsubishi L200.
Colin Nicholson, a director with Lamb and Gardiner, said they were shocked by the damage, adding, “It is a secure compound, in the last 15 years we have had very little bother nothing like this.
“There is a loss of business, we can’t sell the cars until they are repaired.”
Police are appealing for help in tracking down those responsible for the damage who scaled an eight foot fence in order to enter the yard.
Scenes of crimes officers were at the garage carrying out an examination of the yard on Thursday.
