Perth Trading Standards seize Nintendo DS R4 cards

Trading Standards officers in Perth have seized a number of illegal games emulator cards from a retailer in Perth.
The Nintendo DS R4 Revolution cards allow ‘homebrew’ programmes to run on the handhelds but also let users download and play pirated software and games.
The officers say changes to the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1998 and recent court decisions have made the sale of the devices illegal.
They also warn that their use can violate the console owners’ software licence agreement and also harm the games industry.
