East Fife defender Jonathan Smart has turned down the offer of a new contract at the Methil club and will move on.
The 30-year-old has been a fans’ favourite at New Bayview for a number of seasons now and scooped the Scottish Third Division Player of the Year award in 2007/8, but his first-team appearances have been fairly limited this season.
Smart, who started out at Raith Rovers, is understood to have been linked with a move to third division Montrose, although there has been no confirmation from the Links Park club as yet.
Meanwhile, East Fife also confirmed they have signed a new sponsorship deal with Glasgow-ased firm Machine Tool Engineers.
