The woman, who had been walking her dog, injured her hip in the fall on the left bank of the river near Cargill’s Leap on Tuesday morning. The incident was reported at around 7am and Tayside Fire and Rescue and Tayside Police were called to the scene. Firefighters using lines assisted in bringing the woman to safety and she was then taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee by ambulance for treatment. The rescue operation took just over an hour.
