Raith Rovers boss happy with Ramsdens Cup venue change

Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn has admitted that the change of venue for his side’s Ramsdens Cup second round tie against Ayr United could work in their favour.
New floodlights are being installed at Somerset Park and the work will not be completed before the game next Tuesday. It will now take place at Greenock Morton’s Cappielow stadium a move which McGlynn is happy with. “We will be travelling just as far for the game but at least it is at a neutral venue, so Ayr will not have the advantage of playing on their home pitch,” he said.
“I have no issue with the move, although it is disappointing that the crowd is bound to be a bit smaller as the Ayr fans will have to travel as well.”
