Perth Theatre’s Twelfth Night full of Celtic connections

Perth Theatre’s new creative director Rachel O’Riordan has chosen 1920s Scotland as the setting for Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, the first full-scale production she has directed since taking up the post earlier this year.
The Celtic connections don’t end there as Rachel, who comes from Northern Ireland, has assembled a cast of largely Scottish, Irish and Welsh actors for the production, which runs from September 30 until October 15.
“Twelfth Night is a fantastically character-led play, full of clever twists and pacy dialogue with a whole stack of themes to explore,” said Rachel.
“It needs a big cast, so it is not staged very often. I am delighted to bring it to Perth audiences.”
