The 33-year-old was with St Mirren last season but was released by Buddies boss Danny Lennon at the start of the summer. Now, Smith will give Dargo the chance to resurrect his career at Dens Park. Dundee only have two fully-fit strikers in young Leighton McIntosh and Steven Milne. Jake Hyde is sidelined with a knee injury and Graham Bayne is still making his way back to full fitness. With the Dark Blues sitting bottom of division one with a minus three goal difference, adding more firepower has become a priority.
