A Wormit man accused of assaulting his wife with a hedge strimmer had his case postponed at Dundee Sheriff Court.
Edward Tin Man Pong, 78, of Devonlea Road, denies that on September 13 2014 at their home, he assaulted Agnes Pong by striking her on the body with a hedge strimmer, to her injury.
Solicitor David Duncan lodged a special defence of self-defence and said there were no defence witnesses to call.
He said there was medical evidence which is capable of agreement.
Depute fiscal Laura Bruce said the Crown was still waiting for photographs of the strimmer and a schedule of the woman’s injuries.
She added that the Crown wished for more time to investigate further evidence in the background which may affect its pursual of the case.
New dates were fixed, with an intermediate diet on April 7 and trial set for April 30.
