Nearly £10,000 has been handed over to charity thanks to a safety initiative by staff and contractors at Shell’s NGL plant at Mossmorran.
Plant manager Alex Baird presented £9750 to Edinburgh Sick Kids Foundation, Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow, St Andrews and Edinburgh Sick Pilgrims for Lourdes, NILUPUL Foundation, Forth Park Hospital’s special care nursery and its Snowdrop Room, RNLI at Grangemouth, Clydeside Action on Asbestos, RNLI at Kinghorn, Great Ormond Street Hospital, an electric recliner chair for a muscular dystrophy sufferer, Friends Of Leven Child Development Centre, Fife Day Care Services, Erskine Hospital and Bethany Christian Trust.
The money, donated by shell and the company’s contractors Wood Group and Cape, was accumulated throughout last year in recognition of safety achievements.
Charities receiving a share of the money were nominated by staff at the plant.
