A Perth retailer has seen off fierce competition to be crowned the Scottish deli of the year.
Provender Brown in George Street was nominated for the title by loyal customers and impressed a panel of judges to become the only Scottish finalist in the nationwide contest.
As part of the next stage of the competition, a “mystery shopper” will visit the delicatessen for a closer look.
Owner Diane Brown said she was “delighted” with the win as it recognised her efforts and those of her staff.
“It is just fantastic that so many customers got behind us and voted, as well as saying lots of nice things about us,” Diane said.
“These are tough times to be an independent retailer, so it is particularly gratifying at times like these to be recognised for doing so well.
“It is also really good for the staff as they work really hard all the time.”
