Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp looking for fearless 400

Organisers of the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp hope to recruit at least 400 people for this year’s charity trek.
Last year’s yomp a fearsome 52-mile venture around the Cateran Trail from Blairgowrie attracted 240 participants and raised over £200,000 for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust.
The route runs through Kirkmichael, Spittal of Glenshee and Kirkton of Glenisla along a path which usually takes days to complete.
Launching the 2012 version at the Angus Hotel in Blairgowrie this week, backers said they hope to enjoy an even more successful event.
Anyone wishing to take part in the Cateran Yomp, which takes place over Armed Forces Weekend, June 30 to July 1, can sign up online.
