Reminder of more restrictions on the Forth Road Bridge this weekend

Motorists can expect more traffic disruption at the Forth Road Bridge this weekend.
Following the completion of emergency repairs on the bridge, traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 3am until noon on Saturday and Sunday so engineers can remove equipment and materials.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to cross the bridge using the west footpath and cycleway.
In the event of adverse weather causing the work to be delayed, the traffic restrictions may be extended into the afternoon. If work cannot be completed over the weekend it will be postponed until after the Easter holidays.
Emergency repairs were required after damaged bolts were found on the bridge’s cable.
Chief engineer and bridgemaster Barry Colford said: ”Our advice is to avoid using the bridge at these times, take an alternative route or use public transport.”
