An undisclosed reward has been offered in the bid to trace thieves who stripped a former Angus care home in a £20,000 raid.
It is believed the culprits may have made several visits to Mundamalla House in Newtyle, where they ripped out fixtures including marble fireplaces and brass light fittings.
Police have launched an appeal for the public’s help to trace those responsible for the thefts, which happened between March 6 and last Friday.
Mundamalla has been vacant since it was closed by the Priority Care Group in 2009.
A senior figure in the company said he was sickened by the theft.
Andy Prior said the items taken included an ornate marble surround from the main drawing room as well as numerous antique wall lights and brass fixings on the main staircase.
Mr Prior hopes that a reward for information leading to conviction may bring forward some vital clues.
